March 16: Another week that just flew by! And we're still loving every minute. I don't anticipate that will change anytime soon! Miya's second week of life included more visits from friends and loved ones, as well as assorted little outings. Unfortunately, the second week also meant losing our wonderful helpers. Grandma Ramirez has been really sick, so Gina and Rocio had to go back to help her out.
Here is Miya on her two week birthday. She is just as tiny as the day she was born, but she's definitely headed in the right direction. She's putting on some of the weight she lost after birth.
Other special moments this week included saying bye to tia and prima, as well as seeing more visitors.
We also went for burgers at Phil's Ice House one day. Granted, that was more for mom and dad, but Miya got some time with special friends.

ONE WEEK OLD!
March 9, 2010: Wow! One week sure does fly by quickly! On that day I was generally overwhelmed by a sense of wanting to desperately slow down time to make these precious moments last forever. We have had so much fun! It was also a difficult week adjusting to all of the changes, but everyone did great. Miya is catching on to the whole feeding thing, and Will is quickly becoming a diaper-changing champ. Sleep is hard to come by for Will and me, but I think we're both running on sheer adrenaline and happy hormones in general. It really helps to have Gina fix all our meals and clean up, too! Will also does his share, making sure we have everything that we need.
On Miya's one week birthday, the weather was great so we decided to take a little trip to the park for a stroll. It was nice to just get out of the house and get some sunshine and fresh air. Rocio enjoyed playing and making new friends.

Happy Birthday, Daddy!
Sunday, March 7, was Will's birthday. Miya was his big present this year! We took some family pictures and then we celebrated with Wyatt and his parents. They were nice enough to prepare a delicious meal, complete with birthday cupcakes. We also enjoyed the Oscars for a while. This was Miya's very first outing- at 5 days old! She did great! And everyone had a good time.

We're on our way home!
On Thursday, two days after Miya's birth, we were sent on our way home. We were all very excited and a little bit nervous. But we were prepared. And we were excited that Miya was going to be visited by Tia Gina and her big cousin, Rocio! They were in town to take care of mama, who needed to focus on Miya! They were great, too! They cooked and cleaned and generally took care of mom and dad, and admired Miya a lot.

Our Stay in the Hospital
We stayed at the hospital for two days. We were comfy and well cared for. We had lots of visits from all kinds of nurses and doctors just to make sure we were all doing well. Ok- nobody checked on Dad, but they checked on Mom and Miya! We also had some friends and family visit. Grandma and Grandpa Pate came over, as well as uncle Justin. Wyatt also came to meet Miya for the first time. Oh, and Miya even had her very first manicure. So it begins! :)

Miya is Born!
